Look, we don’t want to get too politically correct or anything, we are still going to sell you great used auto parts even if you call us the J word, but Pete’s Auto Parts is not a junkyard.

From the dictionary,

junk·yard
/ˈjəNGkˌyärd/

noun

NORTH AMERICAN
  1. a place where scrap is collected before being recycled or discarded.

At Pete’s Auto Parts we do not collect scrap. We purchase high-quality insurance company total-loss vehicles, we carefully test, inventory, catalog & photograph the parts, then we remove parts and sell them. We recycle the fluids, metals, and other materials from the vehicles and help customers re-use the good parts.

The dictionary definition of salvage yard is a little closer:

salvage yard
/ˈsælvɪdʒ jɑːd/
noun

NORTH AMERICAN

  1. a place where old machines, cars, etc. are broken up so that the metal can be sold or used again
    • salvage yards with cars that are being sold for parts

At Pete’s Auto parts we aren’t really buying OLD cars we are buying GENTLY CRASHED cars, which is different because old worn out cars and old worn out parts, whereas we frequently sell parts off of 2024 model vehicles. We tend to call ourselves Automotive Recyclers. We like the wiki page for the explanation.

We’ll still treat you great, even if you call us a junkyard. We’ll just have to work harder to change your view on used auto parts suppliers!
