doing what we can for those who keep us safe
Pete’s Auto Parts is committed to giving back and one way we do that is to host our local fire departments for training. Fire trucks are often called to the scenes of accidents and Pete’s provides a valuable resource for both the Georgetown Fire Department and the Blendon Township Fire Department to train their people on safe ways to cut through vehicles, remove people from vehicles, and much more.
There is a long history of Pete’s Auto Parts helping the fire departments, our founder Pete Elenbaas was a volunteer firefighter for decades and it’s close to our heart to support these important departments. By providing vehicles to cut apart in a safe place, Pete’s gives back to our community.
Georgetown Fire Dept does trainings with vehicles upside down, on one side, etc. At this recent training they had us prep 12 vehicles for them and they set up three rotating stations for their people to learn. One station they taught how to cut a front and rear door off of a vehicle all in one operation, to get passengers safely out of both the front and back of a vehicle faster than removing the doors separately. They also had vehicles on the roof and trained how to remove passengers from vehicles safely that were overturned. They use dummies (think crash test dummies!) with their real equipment and our vehicles. We think Pete would be proud that we can continue to help the fire departments in our community keep people safe.

Supporting The people who matter most
We truly have the best staff and they have some super cute kids who are involved in sports, music and more! At Pete’s we love to sponsor anything our team or their children are a part of. We’ve been a proud sponsor of Georgetown Little League for a number of years now.
Plenty of local organizations contact us for donations but we try our best to put our money into the programs our team cares about. On a bowling league? We’ll sponsor that. Kid in the band? Now we’re a band sponsor. Middle school having a pig-in-the-blanket fundraiser? We love pigs-in-the-blanket and we love to support the people we love. No matter what it is, if it’s for our people, or their little people, we’re in.
Supporting young people and farming
One of our favorite ways to support young people in the community is to buy cows and pigs at the Hudsonville Community Fair, and after processing, distribute the meat to our staff members.
Buying a cow at the Hudsonville Community Fair helps the local 4-H and FFA students, provides our staff with locally raised, high quality meat, and supports local farming promoting sustainable practices.
